History of Kunyung

After 22 years of being an entirely relocatable complex (except for the school council funded Science Room) we are now enjoying completely redeveloped facilities of the permanent structure – A Multi-Purpose room of some 200 square metres (in demand for hire by outside bodies), Administration Block, Canteen, 3 classrooms, Staff Room and internal toilets. It is an excellent building and a credit to the many school councillors, parents and staff who, over the years have battled hard to obtain facilities worthy of our beautiful site. Stage Two – 2 classrooms, toilets, art room, library and computer laboratory was completed in mid 2002. Stage Three - Our School Council President, Michael Durack, was been tireless in his efforts to negotiate the ‘best deal’ and Stage three is now complete. This stage consists of 4 more permanent classrooms on our upper level and a relocatable complex centred around the existing Science Room and Junior Playground, two new basketball courts were installed as the final component of the Stage 3 building program. So in November 2003 the school community celebrated the ‘new’ school – the result of fantastic community support in raising co-operative loans and other fund raising ventures, together with the Department of Education’s very welcome grants!
